Abstract

In this essay I propose to review some related to social participation from my theoretical and practical experience in this field elements. Is not only about the participation in health, also about the participation of the people in general, at all levels referenced. For this, my reflections about the following topics are grouped: a) social participation or popular participation, b) rethink power and democracy, c) social subject and social actor, d) permanent construction of hegemony and counter-hegemony.
