Abstract

The changes generated by a globalized world, due to the influences in the economic, political, labor, cultural and social dynamics, make a complex view for any discipline and for the daily life of societies and cultures. From the Social and Community Psychology, this scenario seeks to understand the phenomenon from an appropriate psychosocial and cultural perspective. In this regard, this investigation and psycho sociocultural accompaniment addresses the breakdowns in the disposals of an Iku indigenous woman, produced by her transit among sociocultural contexts, i.e., facing the hysteresis phenomenon. The methodological approach was guided by phenomenology, through life history, aimed to capture the explicit meanings in the experience of change. Within the accompaniment, two elements were taken into account: the ethnographic therapy and established ways of understanding problems. The Iku woman was allowed to reassign meaning to the problematic situations from the reconfigurations of her different points of view or established ways of solving problems.
