Abstract

The aim of the present article wants to recover the critic dimension of the integration-exclusion of the indigenous peoples in the field of health, while the most negative rates are still present in the people who have less resource and receive a deficient and unsuitable attention to their cultural needs. To have a reference it is necessary to search the international regulations about health rights in indigenous peoples and intercultural initiatives. Subsequently, the damage of an emerging problem as diabetes type 2 is shown in Mexican society, and the difficulties of this illness are treat them as qualitative data in a Mayan speaking group of the Mexican southeast. We recommended an intercultural training for health personnel, proposing an intercultural framework to those groups in indigenous zones as an appropriate strategy.
