La historiografía medica en México. El primer gran encuentro con su historia en el siglo XIX

Abstract

This article relates the medical literature in its most varied forms of expression and thematic diversity. However, highlights its expression so specialized and lack of disclosure, as well as the period so dilated that was before appeared an exemplar where Mexican doctors could identify themselves. At the end of XIX century Francisco Flores y Troncoso wrote a monumental book, with proportions that exceeded him, therefore he committed errors. Despite that, it was the seed of new and better books of its kind, no matter the little recognition the text was frequently used without giving him any credit but also repeating his mistakes. Today it is recognized as a major work in the history of Mexican medicine.
