Abstract

First this work a reflection about stress, alienation, labor health-disease process, und the pronto are presented. Stress is descriptive, empiric, and generic defined as an adapting. (dis)adapting, and readapting process of any human being when facing enviromental changes. Alienation is an interpretive, heuristic, and generic concept defined as estranging of human objective possibilities taking him/her to an apparent thing/representation break. Labor is an activities complex resulting in human nature appropriation with characteristics specific to different production ways, rooting human identity. Health-disease process is a vital expressions complex historically developing different skills to face challenges, aggressions, and physical and mental rot. Pronto is a permanent tension attitude, loaded with harshness, doubt, and diffuse hostility without defined objective, taking the individual persona to psychic suffering even when it does not quality as disease. These concepts have been tested in tow cases: 1) Case of 288 nursing workers in five units of a university teaching public hospital in Brazil. 2) Case of 241 sea oil platform workers at Northeast Brazil.
