Evaluación de un modelo de las estrategias institucionales del autocuidado. Uso de condón y prevención en jóvenes universitarios
Evaluation of a model of the institutional strategies of self-care. Condom use and prevention in university students
Abstract
Health self-care studies warn that this is an institutional diffusion strategy centered on the individual without considering the influence of the groups and institutions with which the individual interacts. In this sense, the objective of the work was the evaluation of a model related to the institutional strategies of self-care, the use of condoms and the prevention of risks associated with HPV, considering the scenario of the study university, as well as the findings reviewed in Literature. A non-experimental, cross-sectional and exploratory study was carried out with a non-probabilistic selection of 325 undergraduate students at a public university in central Mexico, considering their attendance at sexual and reproductive health courses, as well as their participation in the dissemination of information and distribution of condoms in the student and community community. Through a structural model, it was found that the factor that reflects self-care is the search for information, but this variable was spuriously linked to the self-report of condom use, recommending the inclusion of other factors such as institutional isomorphism, the choice of the couple and the sexual relationship with the couple or companion.
