Salud y género. El impacto del mesotelioma pulmonar en la dinámica familiar

Abstract

This paper presents partial results of research into Asbestos production and its family and social consequences. A French-Brazilian comparison carried out from 1994 to 1996 “in the Sao Paulo region. The impact of the disease on the family, especially upon sex/gender relationships is addressed. Unequal gender relationships are emphasized as a means for the construction of the invisibility of the illness and women's work as care givers, both, in the workplace and in the household.
