Abstract

To deal with AIDS, this paper articulates two perspectives. The first is a practical one, with therapeutic applications: The psycho-affective phases that patients witted AIDS go through. The other one has an anthropological view: The behaviors -hedonism and inmoderation- that are inherent to this pandemic disease. To deal with the first perspective the table elaborated by Dr. Luis Guillermo Juarez and the autor is used. The table was drawn from direct work with HIV positive asynthomatic people and patients already diagnosed with AIDS and their close kin and pears. For the second perspective using the theoretical and methodological model of anthropology of behavior, AIDS as phenomenon is analyzed. It is concluded that the HIV virus is not the only and not the more dangerous responsible of the pandemia. Nor it can be blamed for the magnitude of the disease. Hence, -its deep understanding has to be transdisciplinary, not focusing AIDS only as a biological phenomena.
